Elsie Lillian Day Nee Clark, age 97, passed from this life November 24, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born May 17, 1919 in London, England. Elsie survived the blitz of London during World War II. She was one of the women referred to as Rosie the Riveter during the war, working at a factory that manufactured gerry cans. Elsie was a member of Hackettstown, New Jersey Pearl Chapter of the Eastern Star. She loved to sing, was an excellent seamstress and an avid bowler. Elsie Lillian Day Nee Clark, age 97, passed from this life November 24, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born May 17, 1919 in London, England. Elsie survived the blitz of London during World War II. She was one of the women referred to as Rosie the Riveter during the war, working at a factory that manufactured gerry cans. Elsie was a member of Hackettstown, New Jersey Pearl Chapter of the Eastern Star. She loved to sing, was an excellent seamstress and an avid bowler. Elsie lived many years in Succasunna, New Jersey before moving to Roland, Oklahoma in 2007.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Day and her husband Russell Palumbo of Portland, Pennsylvania, Valeria Matlock and her husband Jackie of Muldrow, Oklahoma and Marcia Savadge of Mount Bethel, Pennsylvania; a son Ian Day of Fremont, California; four grandsons, Andy Carter of Roland, Oklahoma, Dustin Carter of Muldrow, Oklahoma, Keith Breidt and Danny Buesing both of Lebanon, New Jersey, as well as one great granddaughter, Natalya Breidt of Lebanon, New Jersey.
