A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 17th at Roebuck Chapel, First United Methodist Church, Fort Smith with Reverend William Reeves officiating. William Shoffey was born August 10, 1942, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Goldia Gray and William S. Shoffey. He passed away peacefully in his home in Leawood, Kansas on Saturday, December 3, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Bill loved cooking, feeding people, fishing, hunting, gardening, joking and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his father; and leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Genie Durden Shoffey;...

He passed away peacefully in his home in Leawood, Kansas on Saturday, December 3, 2016, surrounded by his family.

Bill loved cooking, feeding people, fishing, hunting, gardening, joking and playing cards. He was preceded in death by his father; and leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Genie Durden Shoffey; his mother, Goldia; sister, Nancy Shoffey Karrant of Fort Smith; his son, Jason Shoffey (Rose) of Fort Smith; daughters, Jennifer Shoffey Forsythe (Jamie) of Columbus, Ohio, Gray Shoffey McBay (Matt) McLean of Virginia, Amber Shoffey of Chicago; two stepchildren, Kelly Hicks (Mitzie) and Rachel Hicks Sims, all of Fort Smith; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his uncle, James Shoffey of Fort Smith and many cousins.

There will be a graveside service for interment of ashes at Forest Park Cemetery, Fort Smith, following the Chapel Service with assistance from Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a favorite charity are suggested.
